Classic Engineered Timber Flooring

An engineered board is, quite simply, a timber board which consists of more than one layer. By placing each layer so that the grain runs perpendicularly it becomes virtually impossible for the timber to swell or shrink with changes in humidity and so it dramatically increases its stability. The top layer of an engineered board (the lamella) is solid wood, usually hardwood, and may be anything from 0.6mm to 6mm thick; the thickest wear layers are equivalent to those on solid timber boards and obviously the thicker the surface layer the more times it can be sanded and refinished to remove the ravages of wear. The lamella is securely bonded to one or two further layers – this may be a multi-layered plywood or a sandwich with either a softwood or hardwood core.

Trust in the Horimber 5G range to make your home complete. Our beautiful range will give you the choice of style and colour to complete any interior design possible. These 1-strip engineered timbers are finished with 8 Layers German water based clear coatings, smooth and semi-gloss finish. The innovative 5G locking systems are based on a single action installation method. 5G installation secures installation with a visible and audible locking function. This means that the head side of the floor element is simultaneously locked into the long side with a click. The secret is a flexible plastic tongue (removable glass fibre spring) on the short side of the panel. The locking method is activated by a simple folding down motion. No tools at all are needed. A finger pressure suffices to lock the boards together. 14/3mm thick and other dimensions are subject to the stock (minimum 1820mm long & 122mm wide)
